Syringodendron


This type of Sigillaria leaf scar pattern known as Syringodendron is comprised of individual dimples or parichnos. It was found underneath this Sigillaria davreuxi.specimen. These structures represent the locations of veins or vascular bundles serving the leaves.

Location: Lincoln County, West Virginia; Tiny Creek Mine #1, located about 12 miles south of Charleston, West Virginia in the vicinity of Pine Grove.
